My name is Joe Corona and over the past 23 years, I have made my full-time living trading in the options markets. I started my career on the CBOE in 1982, I ran Tony Saliba’s trading desk for 3 1/2 years and now I run a proprietary trading and consulting operation which specializes in trading U.S., European, and Asian derivatives. I have also personally trained hundreds of options and derivative traders for some of the biggest institutional financial firms in the world.

Now, for the first time, in collaboration with TradingMarkets, I’m going to be teaching individual traders how to trade options. What Type Of Trading Strategies Will I Teach You?

Most option courses either use a great deal of math, the Greeks (delta, theta, vega, etc.) or they show you how to buy puts and calls and do covered-call writing. MY COURSE DOES NONE OF THESE! I’m going to teach you “what really works” and I’m going to be doing it with strategies which I (and other professionals in Chicago) have used successfully for years, and/or strategies which have had at least 10 years of statistical and systematic proof that an edge has existed.

This is the type of options course I wish I had two decades ago when I started trading. Many traders use math to trade options. That’s fine but it’s incomplete. Many more traders buy calls and puts while guessing direction (most of them lose). The key to trading options professionally is to have technical analysis strategies and systems with edges and then knowing how to identify and trade low-risk options which give you the opportunity for substantial returns.

My course is simple to understand, easy to use and it will be backed by me trading real money in real time with the strategies. The options industry has long needed a course like this and as far as I know this is the only course of its kind!

Most Options Information Taught By Others Is Useless

I’m sorry to be so blunt, but after 23 years of trading and teaching, it’s just the way it is. As you and I both know, there is a tremendous amount of useless information taught by others and my goal is to make sure you avoid trading that information and learn how to trade options the proper and correct way. In my opinion and experience, options are the single best investment vehicle to trade with and, when done correctly, they give you the greatest opportunity to potentially make substantial profits. The one thing I promise you is that you will not find most, (if any) of the TMOC strategies in any book or any other options course. You will learn many of the same strategies that I have used to make my living trading for the past 23 years.

What is The Tradingmarkets Professional Options Trading College (TMOC)?

TradingMarkets Professional Options Trading College is a professionally constructed options training program which will get you to the level of being able to make correct options decisions every day for years to come. You will not find the knowledge in TMOC any place else, either on the Internet, in books or in other courses. You have the peace of mind of knowing the strategies are real, and the research is real. 1. Over a 14-week period of time (my class starts in the first week of June), we will meet once a week for 1 to 1-1/2 hours live on the Internet. In order to assure you receive personalized attention the class will be strictly limited to 45 traders maximum.
2. During each session I will take you through a step-by-step process of combining specific directional strategies (most backed by at least 10 years of statistical quantification) with low- risk options trades. Naked short positions and exotic positions will not be used at anytime. My goal for you is that by the time you are done with my course, you will be able to come into the trading day, identify the lowest risk/highest potential return edges which exist and know exactly which options strategies to trade.
3. I will also teach you the correct way to scale in and out of these positions in order to lower your cost basis and lock in profits. Plus, you will learn how I use price stops and time stops to protect all trades. On top of this, I will share with you some of the best advanced trading strategies successful professionals in Chicago use (I’ve used many of them for years and you will see me trade these strategies in live trading during the course). One of the setups you will learn (in Week 8) is so powerful that, during some years I (and other traders) have made an entire “year’s worth of profits” from this one setup alone. And, by the time you complete the course, you will be in possession of this and many other of my best strategies.

Here Is What I Will Teach You

Let me now walk you through my TMOC course schedule so that you will know what exactly you will be taught. My plan is for us to make sure that you have a thorough base knowledge of options in Week 1 and then we dive into strategies beginning in Week 2. From there we will build your knowledge week after week and by Week 11, you will be in a strong position to use my entire plan in real trading alongside me.

You will learn a combination of strategies which TradingMarkets has published (and trades) and a number of strategies which I have used (and continue to use) over and over again. You will be getting the best of both worlds in this course.

Over the years, my traders and I converted a number of strategies TradingMarkets has created and have successfully combined them with our own options strategies. Some of the systems taught in The Tradingmarkets Swing Trading College are amongst the best I’ve seen and I’m going to teach you how to take a handful of these strategies and trade options with them in both equities and indices.

I will also introduce you to previously unpublished research which combines price, direction, and volatility. Some of these strategies have correctly predicted price direction over 75% of the time and volatility over 85% of the time since 1995. These are huge edges, and should this behavior hold in the future, you will learn how to be in low-risk option strategies which have the potential to make tremendous outsized gains.

Then beginning in Week 7, you will learn professional strategies which I have used (along with other professionals in Chicago) and which have been the backbone of my success. You’ll learn special strategies to trade earnings reports and seasonal spreads which have led to some of my biggest gains (I’ve seen other traders retire on these trades), a well known Leap Call strategy used by professional traders, plus two very special strategies will be taught including…

The Magnetic Strike Price Strategy,
And A Low Risk/High Reward Proprietary Straddle Strategy
I’ve Used For Years

In Week 8, I will teach you the Magnetic Strike Price Strategy. Each month, for the final two weeks of the options expiration cycle, you will scan for this one special set-up. I will show you “exactly” the two parameters to look for and how to find them (it’s simple and can be done within minutes in the evening). When you see the two parameters trigger, you will put on a low-risk position which has historically led to high percentage outsized gains. Even though I cannot guarantee this nor any other strategy will be successful in the future, this strategy has worked consistently for years. And unless something structurally changes in the options markets, I believe it has the potential to continue to work for years to come.

Also in Week 8, I will teach you (using an exact technical analysis set-up), a simple low-risk straddle strategy that has the potential to do two things. The first is that this trade has the potential to explode in price leading to unlimited upside gains for you. The second is that it has the potential to be traded “for free”. This means, when properly traded, you will at times have “zero risk in the trade” and unlimited upside from the trade. Sound too good to be true? It’s not. It’s real and you will learn it from me, plus see me trade it.

On top of all this you will learn more professional strategies including strategies to trade rallies, strategies to trade declining markets, and how to make money in a sideways market.

In Week 9, I will teach you how to construct your options business, how to construct your trading day the night before (the research will take you from 15-45 minutes depending upon how in-depth you decide to use my strategies), how to select the correct broker, how to properly place orders, how to minimize your costs, how to set-up your options screens, how to automate your scans and how to make sure you are in the lowest risk positions while at the same time being in potential position to fully maximize your returns. I will leave no stone unturned in Week 9 so you will be prepared to begin your lifelong options trading career.

While you are absorbing everything from Weeks 1-9, I’m also going to have you send me your favorite equity, index or futures strategy to trade. Live Trading

In Weeks 11-14 we’re going to do live trading. You’ll see me put everything I taught to you into motion. You will watch me execute the game plan you’ve been taught and you will watch me continuously look for the lowest risk positions which provide me with the potential for the highest gains. And, you of course have the option to trade alongside with me if you wish.
