Karen Snider – Osteopathic Approach to Asthma

Learning Objectives:

1. State how asthma is defined and its diagnostic criteria.
2. Explain the pathophysiology including the etiology, epidemiology, and risk factors of asthma.
3. Explain the preventative measures to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of asthma.
4. Explain the clinical manifestations and the physical examination finding of asthma with particular emphasis on the musculoskeletal manifestations of asthma.
5. Describe and administer the osteopathic manipulative treatment approach to the management of asthma and discuss the treatment goals of the various types of techniques.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1.25 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Grievance Policy:
All grievances should be in writing and should specify the nature of the grievance.  Initially, all grievances should be directed to MAOPS Executive Director, who will then forward said grievance to the Education & Convention Committee.  All grievances will receive an initial response in writing within 30 days of receipt.  If the participant does not receive a satisfactory response, then they can then submit a complaint in writing to the Bureau of Osteopathic Education of the AOA at 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611.
