This lecture will discuss the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of Parkinson’s disease, as well as characteristics of atypical parkinsonian syndromes.

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of Parkinson’s disease

2. Recognize the characteristics of atypical parkinsonian syndromes and other causes of parkinsonism.

This program was planned and implemented by the Montana Osteopathic Association (MOA) and was accredited by the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons (MAOPS).

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 2-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Grievance Policy:
All grievances should be in writing and should specify the nature of the grievance. Initially, all grievances should be directed to MAOPS Executive Director, who will then forward said grievance to the Education & Convention Committee. All grievances will receive an initial response in writing within 30 days of receipt. If the participant does not receive a satisfactory response, then they can then submit a complaint in writing to the Bureau of Osteopathic Education of the AOA at 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611.

John Herndon MD is a Neurologist practicing at Billings Clinic, in Billings, Montana. He attended medical school at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in New York, NY, followed by residency at the University of North Carolina, in Chapel Hill. Dr. Herndon completed a fellowship in Movement Disorders at the University of Maryland Medical Center, in Baltimore.
