Module 1: The Concept of the Shadow & Each Enneagram Type’s Blind Spots

Module 3: Recognizing & Integrating the Shadows of Types 1 & 2
What shadows tend to be most prevalent for Enneagram types 1 and 2? What tends to remain unconscious in these types — and how can they make these patterns conscious?
Beatrice will share the blind spots of Ones and Twos. She’ll share how to best recognize these blind spots — and how to become more aware of them to best grow psychologically and spiritually.
As you explore which emotions and patterns Ones and Twos tend to avoid, you’ll discover steps they can take to integrate these blind spots to deepen their growth path.
In this module, you’ll explore:
- The specific emotions Ones and Twos make an effort to avoid

During this class, you’ll discover which shadows tend to be most prevalent for Enneagram types 3 and 4.
You’ll explore which emotions tend to remain unconscious in these types — and how they can bring these patterns into their conscious mind.
As you explore which emotions and patterns Threes and Fours try so hard to avoid, you’ll discover steps they can take to integrate these blind spots into their whole person.
In this module, you’ll explore:
- The ways life can improve for Threes and Fours when they integrate their blind spots
- How healing practitioners can best support Threes and Fours
- The shadows that tend to remain most unrealized in these types, and why
- The consequences of turning a blind eye to your shadows
- The ways Threes and Fours can make their hidden emotional patterns more conscious
Module 5: Recognizing & Integrating the Shadows of Types 5 & 6
In this module, you’ll learn about the shadows of Enneagram types 5 and 6 — what tends to remain unconscious in these types and how they can make these type-specific unconscious patterns more conscious.
You’ll look at the blind spots of these two head-based types to understand how they can recognize them and work to become more aware of them as a way of revolutionizing their psychological and spiritual development.
You’ll develop a much deeper understanding of these types through learning about what emotions and patterns they tend to avoid being aware of — and what they can do to integrate these blind spots to further their growth journey.
In this module, you’ll explore:
- The blind spots of Enneagram types 5 and 6 — what tends to remain unconscious in these types, why they develop these particular blind spots, and the negative results of staying blind to them
- Specific emotions Fives and Sixes avoid becoming aware of
- How Fives and Sixes can make their specific unconscious patterns, beliefs, and emotions more conscious
- The positive outcomes Fives and Sixes can achieve when they integrate their blind spots — and how healing practitioners can most effectively work with them
Module 6: Recognizing & Integrating the Shadows of Type 7 + The Archetypal Hero’s Journey
As with all types, certain blind spots tend to remain unconscious for Sevens — and they can make these type-specific unconscious patterns more conscious.
Beatrice will share the blind spots in a Seven’s shadow — and explain how they can uplevel their psychological and spiritual development.
You’ll learn which emotions and other aspects of experience they tend to avoid being aware of — and what they can do to integrate these blind spots to further their growth journey.
In the second half of this module, you’ll explore the archetypal hero’s journey in depth.
You’ll explore how this journey maps a path of transformation and growth through a kind of “initiation” in which you confront your shadow. As you’ll discover, the Enneagram serves as a symbol of this journey.
You’ll deepen your understanding of your own archetypal path to wholeness through compelling examples of this life-changing process from myths, fairy tales, and great works of literature.
In this module, you’ll explore:
- The blind spots of the Seven, the shadows that remain unconscious for them, and why they develop these particular blind spots to begin with
- Specific emotions Sevens unconsciously avoid
- How Sevens can embrace their hidden patterns, beliefs, and emotions
- The ways healing practitioners can support Sevens — and the positive shifts that happen when they integrate their blind spots
- The path of transformation mapped out by the archetypal hero’s journey that you can apply to your own life — to deepen your understanding of your own path of development
- The role of facing the shadow within the hero’s journey, highlighted through examples from myths, stories, and fairy tales that clarify what it means to integrate the shadow
Module 7: Applying the Archetypal Hero’s Journey to Your Growth Path
In this final class, you’ll explore how the Enneagram maps out the archetypal hero’s journey — as Beatrice shares what it can reveal about your growth path.
You’ll come to understand even more about how you can face the “monsters within”…. and experience more of your full potential when you plot out and engage in your own journey toward wholeness.
Inspired by examples of this archetypal transformative path from great works of literature, including Homer’s Odyssey and Dante’s Divine Comedy, you’ll discover how to apply all you’ve learned to clearly articulate your own growth steps based on this archetypal path.
You’ll receive some final Enneagram-based tips and practices to expand your awareness — and travel the road back home to remember your true self.

About Beatrice Chestnut
One of the most authoritative voices and thought leaders in the modern Enneagram movement, Beatrice Chestnut has been studying and working with the Enneagram for 30 years. She teaches workshops on the Enneagram internationally, focusing on using it as a tool for personal and professional transformation.
Beatrice, who has a PhD in communication and an MA in clinical psychology, is the author of two books, The Complete Enneagram: 27 Paths to Greater Self-Awareness, and The 9 Types of Leadership: Mastering the Art of People in the 21st-Century Workplace. She served on the board of directors of the International Enneagram Association (IEA) for six years and was president of the IEA in 2006 and 2007.
Over the last eight years, the center of gravity of her work has shifted from depth psychotherapy to executive coaching, leadership development, and team coaching.
